PURPOSE

Many outstanding and talented high school graduates have constraints that affect their ability to achieve their educational objectives and full potential. Fondation Santé seeks to assist students who have demonstrated integrity, perseverance in overcoming adversity, strength of character, an excellent academic record, commitment to pursue a college education, and are in financial need. The Scholarship Grant Program provides an opportunity for college education and a brighter future for motivated high school seniors from countries in the southeast Mediterranean and the Balkans. Scholarships may be used to supplement other funds received from other sources.


WHO CAN APPLY

Scholarship grants are made only to high school graduates who have demonstrated exceptional academic performance in high school, as well as integrity, strength of character in the face of adversity and a high level of motivation and achievement. A committee will select qualified applicants and, in accordance with their backgrounds and interests, will assist in the application process to qualified academic institutions. Candidates should be recent high school graduates. In addition they must meet the following criteria:

Candidates should have completed higher education recently. More specifically, candidates should:

  • have a high school degree with high honors;
  • be affiliated with a country in the southeastern Mediterranean or the Balkans (nationality, country of residence);
  • demonstrate financial need;
  • be fluent in English

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

Fondation Santé administers the grant program independently. All applications will be reviewed by the foundation's Selection Committee, which is solely responsible for the evaluation of the candidates. The Selection Committee is made up of two Members of the Fondation Santé, who will serve on the Selection Committee from time to time. Candidates with any personal connection to a Committee Member will be ineligible for a scholarship grant. Candidates should submit an application toFondation Santé.

The application must include:

  • a statement (no longer than one page) describing interests and desired field of study;
  • a CV describing academic record and extracurricular interests;
  • a list of schools of interest; and
  • one confidential letter of recommendation, to be sent DIRECTLY from the person making the recommendation to the foundation.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Scholarship grants will be awarded based on academic excellence, character, motivation, and financial need. Before the grants come into force, candidates must be accepted at an academic institution of recognized excellence. Fondation Santé does not guarantee that any candidate will be accepted at any academic institution. ANNUAL PROGRESS REPORTS

Scholarship grant recipients will maintain a minimum overall grade point average of 3.0 at all times, and will be required to forward semester grades to the Executive Director along with a brief semester report.
